Katherine Rockhill’s time with Evanescence is a testament to the power of music and how it can bring people from different worlds together. While studying at the RCM, Katherine never would have dreamed that she would one day perform with the iconic American rock band.
In a stroke of luck, Katherine was asked to play piano for Evanescence when they were on a world tour in the UK. She jumped at the opportunity, eager to perform with one of her favorite bands.
Katherine played in three shows with the band, starting with two shows at the Festival Hall, South Bank in London, and then her final performance at the Hammersmith Apollo. It was an incredible experience that Katherine will never forget.
One of the most memorable highlights of the experience for Katherine was watching the drummer in awe during the concerts. He was a true master of his craft, throwing his sticks in the air and catching them again in the space of one beat of music. It was a jaw-dropping sight that left Katherine mesmerized and inspired, and serves as a testament to the power of bringing together performances from different worlds. For Katherine, it was an unforgettable experience that will stay with her for the rest of her life.
