Katherine has had the pleasure of recording with Debbie Wiseman on several occasions. The two first met back in 2003 when they recorded the music for ‘The Selfish Giant’. Several years later, in 2017, the Katherine had the opportunity to work with Debbie once again as part of an orchestra, accompanying her music for ‘The Glorious Garden’ alongside Alan Titchmarsh, reading poems. It was a magical experience, and Katherine was struck by Debbie’s exceptional talent and her warm and genuine personality.
Most recently, in 2023, the pianist was honored to be asked to step in for Debbie during a performance of her piano solo version of ‘Wolf Hall’, which she arranged especially for the Stratford-on-Avon Literary Festival, accompanying readings by the distinguished actor Anton Lesser. ‘Wolf Hall’ is a stunning score composed by Debbie for the television adaptation of the same name, which went on to become a number one hit on the UK classical charts.
